Q-VANT Biosciences is pleased to announce the commercial launch of QS-21 GH (Global Health), a next-generation saponin adjuvant developed through Q-VANT’s proprietary Q-SAP® technology platform and made available globally through its commercial partnership with SPI Pharma.

QS-21 has played a critical role in some of the most impactful vaccine innovations of the past decade, including vaccines against malaria, shingles, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). However, the limited availability and high cost of traditional QS-21 sources have constrained broader adoption across vaccine development programs. QS-21 GH was developed to address these challenges by providing a sustainable, scalable, and broadly accessible alternative.

Derived from cultivated Quillaja saponaria biomass rather than relying on bark extraction, QS-21 GH combines potent adjuvanticity with commercial-scale manufacturing. The product is designed to support long-term supply security while reducing environmental pressure on natural resources.

“Vaccine innovation requires more than scientific breakthroughs—it requires reliable access to critical components,” said Q-VANT Biosciences. “With QS-21 GH, we are helping remove supply and affordability barriers that have historically limited access to high-performance saponin adjuvants.”

QS-21 GH offers several key advantages for vaccine developers:

  • Sustainable sourcing from cultivated Quillaja biomass.
  • Scalable manufacturing designed to meet growing global demand.
  • Open-access availability to support broader vaccine innovation.
  • Cost-effective access to QS-21-class adjuvant performance.
  • Reliable supply supported by Q-VANT’s vertically integrated production platform.
  • Equal adjuvanticity than benchmark QS-21

The launch reflects the shared commitment of Q-VANT Biosciences and SPI Pharma to expand access to advanced vaccine technologies, particularly for global health applications where affordability and supply reliability are critical. Through the partnership, SPI Pharma serves as the commercial channel for QS-21 GH, enabling vaccine developers worldwide to evaluate and incorporate the adjuvant into next-generation vaccine programs.

Recent scientific programs have already demonstrated the potential of QS-21 GH in supporting robust immune responses in challenging infectious disease targets, including Chagas disease vaccine research. Q-VANT continues to collaborate with academic institutions, biotechnology companies, and vaccine manufacturers to advance innovative saponin-adjuvanted vaccine strategies.

As global demand for effective and accessible vaccines continues to grow, QS-21 GH represents an important step toward democratizing access to one of the most powerful adjuvant technologies available today.
