Santiago, Chile – September 1st, 2026
Q-VANT Biosciences today announced that its manufacturing facility in Santiago, Chile, has achieved EXCiPACT certification to Good Manufacturing Practice requirements for vaccine adjuvants. SGS, a leading independent third-party testing, inspection and certification company, conducted the audit and issued the certification.
The certification covers Q-VANT’s commercial-scale production of QS-21 and other high-purity saponin fractions for human and veterinary vaccines, including Animune-Q™ and QS-Oral®, the company’s oral mucosal adjuvant.
This milestone confirms that Q-VANT’s manufacturing operations and quality systems meet internationally recognized GMP requirements and strengthens the company’s ability to serve vaccine manufacturers, formulation partners and global health organizations with reliable, scalable supplies of critical adjuvant materials. As a vertically integrated company, Q-VANT manages the value chain from sustainable Quillaja biomass sourcing and processing through purification and commercial manufacturing at origin, with capacity to support billions of vaccine doses per year.
Based on Q-VANT’s review of publicly available records, Q-VANT is the only company in the Southern Hemisphere to achieve this designation for commercial-scale GMP production of QS-21. The Santiago facility provides a geographically diversified source of saponin adjuvants and offers an important supply-chain advantage for vaccine development and global health initiatives.
“GMP certification is a major milestone for Q-VANT and for the broader vaccine ecosystem,” said Juan Jose Albarran, CEO of Q-VANT Biosciences. “Our vertically integrated model gives vaccine developers the quality, scale and supply security required to advance human and veterinary vaccine programs worldwide. By sustainably utilizing the entire biomass of the Quillaja trees across our operations, we can scale production to support billions of doses annually while maximizing its value.”
Q-VANT’s portfolio includes openly accessible QS-21 and other saponin fractions for human vaccines, Animune-Q™ for veterinary applications and QS-Oral® for oral and mucosal vaccine platforms. Its integrated operations are designed to use the full Quillaja biomass and provides a sustainable foundation for large-scale production. The company is working with vaccine manufacturers, formulation partners and global health organizations to expand access to advanced adjuvant technologies.
